Abha Lokhande, MD, is an attending physiatrist at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. She is primarily responsible for physiatry consults for acute care inpatients, inpatient rehabilitation traumatic brain injury, CVA, musculoskeletal diseases, amputees and SCI patients. Dr. Lokhande also provides consultations on acute care inpatients for musculoskeletal pain management and for neurological disorders. In addition, she conducts inpatient and outpatient EMG/ NCS.
Prior to MedStar NRH, Dr. Lokhande worked as an attending physiatrist at Washington Adventist Hospital and Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital in Takoma Park, Md. She also worked as an attending physiatrist at Patuxent River Health and Rehabilitation Center and Bedford Court Nursing and Rehab Center.
After receiving her MD from the Ross University School of Medicine in 2006, Dr. Lokhande completed an internship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in General Surgery in June 2007. Dr. Lokhande completed her residency in PM&R at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar NRH in June 2010.
Dr. Lokhande has also presented on topics including Shoulder Rehabilitation: General Principles, Rheumatological Diseases in a Rehab Setting, Knee joint diseases/Rehabilitation and Causes of Neuropathy.
