Curtis L. Whitehair, MD, is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is a specialist in musculoskeletal, occupational medicine, and oncology rehabilitation. He is currently the Program Director of the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital/MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Training Program, the Medical Director of both the Outpatient Center for Orthopaedic Rehabilitation at MedStar NRH and the Oncology Rehabilitation program for MedStar NRH and the MedStar NRH Rehabilitation network. He currently sees patients at the MedStar NRH Outpatient Physician Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Whitehair is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training in physical medicine & rehabilitation at MedStar NRH after completing a preliminary year of family medicine at the Medical College of Virginia. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the School of Nursing at Georgetown University.
Dr. Whitehair is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), and served as the 2007- 2009 President of the Maryland Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation — the state recognized chapter of AAPM&R.Dr. Whitehair is a 2010 Harvard Macy Institute Educators in Health Professions scholar at the Harvard Medical School and a member of the 2010 MedStar Health Teaching Scholars Program. Dr. Whitehair was named a 2012 “Top Doctor” in rehabilitation medicine by Washingtonian magazine.
