Washington, DC – May 7, 2009 – On Saturday, June 13, the FedEx International Polo Classic will be held at Chetwood Park at a private estate in The Plains, Virginia in order to benefit National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) in Washington, D.C. There will be a featured Polo match between the U.S. and French teams, with His Excellency, Pierre Vimont, the Ambassador of France, serving as the Honorary Patron.
The “Afternoon in the Country” will feature a tented lunch, Jack Russell terrier races, a horse and hound demonstration, and a champagne toast after the match. Gina F. Adams, senior vice president of government affairs for FedEx, is the Polo Event Chair and Carole M. Randolph, is the Polo Committee Chair.
