WASHINGTON, DC – May 10, 2012 – MedStar National Rehabilitation Network (MedStar NRH) was recently honored by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) with the Outstanding Business Partnership program award at the 2012 Awards of Excellence ceremony in Baltimore.
The ceremony, which took place in late April, is an annual event recognizing outstanding programs, student organizations, change agents, business partnerships, distinguished service and national award winners.
MedStar NRH was honored for its secondary school mentorship program offered in conjunction with Montgomery County Public Schools. Students learn about careers in physical therapy and are given an opportunity to see what being a physical therapist is all about.
John Brickley, vice president, ambulatory operations, spoke on the network’s behalf at the event and was very honored, humbled and grateful for the award. “We want to thank the Maryland State Board of Education for this recognition and Montgomery County Public Schools for the opportunity to partner with them and make a positive impact on the lives of high school students across the county,” he said. “Through the advanced rehabilitation science curriculum, we have found yet another way to positive impact lives.”
