Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship

MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in conjunction with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital offers a fellowship in Brain Injury Medicine. Two tracks are currently available: a one-year clinical track and a two-year clinical-research track.

The fellowship will provide an additional year of training to develop skills necessary for the management of brain injury or stroke patients who require acute inpatient rehabilitation and long-term outpatient management. In addition to extensive experience on the inpatient rehabilitation units at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital, the fellow has the opportunity to do rotations at both MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University in neuro-critical care, neuro-rehabilitation and various neurological subspecialties.

The fellow will also have the opportunity to work closely and train with the neuropsychology staff and its post-doctoral candidates. Research is required during both the one-year clinical and the two-year clinical-research tracks.

The program is open to applicants who are board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation or Neurology. For more information, please contact Dr. Michael Yochelson, Fellowship Program Director, at 202-877-1504 or via email at nrhbrainfellowship@MedStar.net.
