All proceeds from the 2008 Super H 5K Run, Walk & Wheel will benefit the NRH BlazeSports Club. The National Rehabilitation Hospital has helped countless patients return to active lives after a disabling injury or illness. Many are children, as young as six years old, learning to adjust to their new lives.
Through the NRH BlazeSports Club, these children are introduced to sports as fun and a productive form of therapy. It provides much needed opportunities for patients to test their physical limitations, gain confidence, meet others and simply experience the benefits of sports and recreation activities.
Our Goals in 2008
Develop a Sled Hockey team with tournament participation
Purchase a trailer for storage and transportation of team equipment
Continue funding and supporting Cagers Basketball Team, Blaze Tennis and Capitol Punishers Quad Rugby team, including possible participation in national tournaments
Host wheelchair basketball and quad rugby tournaments
Host two Paralympics Academies, showcasing Paralympics sports
Provide training opportunities for coaches in sport specifics and classification
Host a power soccer intro clinic |
