U.S. News & World Report Cover Best Hospitals

The 2008 U.S. News & World Report issue of “America’s Best Hospitals” ranks the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) as one of the nation’s top rehab hospitals. Each year the Survey honors America’s 25 leading rehabilitation hospitals for outstanding work in handling difficult or complex cases.

This year NRH ranks 11th in the country and is one of only two hospitals in Washington, DC to be honored in the annual report. NRH is the youngest medical rehabilitation hospital of those recognized by the magazine’s national survey. Founded in 1986, NRH is just 22 years old and the average age of the other hospital's ranked is 55.

For the past 14 of its 22 year history, NRH has consistently ranked among the nation’s top rehabilitation hospitals. NRH’s sister hospital Washington Hospital Center was also recognized in this year’s survey as one of the 20 best heart hospitals in the nation.
