Admissions
Patients and family members are invited to tour NRH before admission to learn more about the facility and the services we offer. In addition, a rehabilitation nurse is available to visit the patient and family at the acute-care hospital. Before admission, the NRH pre-admission review team will review the patient’s medical history to determine the need for services and to develop an appropriate plan of treatment.
NRH is approved by most major health insurers and workers’ compensation organizations in the Washington, D.C., area. Because insurance coverage for rehabilitation services can vary greatly among policies, our inpatient Admissions Office will work with the patient, family, and insurance carrier to obtain the necessary coverage information.
If you have any questions regarding the Admissions process or if you wish to make a referral for inpatient services, please contact the NRH Admissions Office at 202.877.1152.
Outpatient Therapy Services
To make a referral or schedule an appointment for outpatient rehabilitation services, please contact the center directly. Keep in mind that services offered will vary by facility. NRH Regional Rehab providers are approved by most major health insurers and workers’ compensation organizations in the Washington, D.C., area. Because insurance coverage for rehabilitation services varies widely from policy to policy, a member of the NRH Regional Rehab staff will discuss insurance coverage with you when you call.
Please remember that many insurance plans require a referral from a primary care physician, and that some services, such as therapies, require a prescription from a physician. Clinical staff will coordinate care with the patient’s primary care or other physician as needed.
Outpatient Physician Appointments
Several of our doctors are available for appointments in our Outpatient Clinic, located on the First floor of the hospital. For more information, please call 202.877.1621. |
