Occupational Injuries

Occupational injuries can affect workers of all kinds—from office workers and meat cutters who develop repetitive motion disorders to fire fighters and construction workers who have back injuries or other problems. Rapid access to medical care and rehabilitation if injuries occur on the job can affect the injured worker’s recovery and ability to return to work, and can decrease medical costs. Prevention of such injuries can also benefit workers while saving employers and insurers money

MedStar National Rehabilitation Network's Occupational Rehabilitation Program offers a continuum of services for injured workers that is based on proven protocols and focused on functional return-to-work outcomes. The programs range from single services for simple, acute injuries to multidisciplinary treatment of complex cases with longstanding pain or dysfunction.

Specialized components of the Occupational Rehabilitation Program include:

  • Work conditioning
  • Functional Restoration
  • Worksite evaluation
  • Vocational evaluation
  • Injury prevention
  • Independent medical examinations
  • Medical services
  • Functional Capacity Evaluation

These services are offered by highly trained clinicians who are experienced in treating occupational injuries.

MedStar NRH also offers ancillary services including:

  • Rehab Engineering (Assistive Technology)
  • Seating and Mobility Clinic
  • Driving Program
  • Health Psychology

MedStar National Rehabilitation Network also has partnerships with the Curtis Work Rehab Center, Ergonetics and Nascott Orthotics & Prosthetics.
