Spotlight on . . .
NRH Regional Rehab at Mitchellville

The workers' compensation program at our Mitchellville location had been languishing before Missy Ferguson, DPT, became an NRH team member two years ago. Program Manager, Jayne Gribble, spotted this diamond in the rough and immediately trained Missy to resurrect the FCE/Work Conditioning programs.

Missy was challenged to creatively use the small space available at Mitchellville to accommodate 3-4 work-conditioning patients at a time. Making the most of her limited resources, Missy now offers a high-quality program with lots of personal attention.

One advantage to the small space is that the patients just can't seem to get away from our team members! Pam Dodson, PT, joined Missy just over a year ago and the two now share responsibilities for the WC/FCE program. Missy graduated with a master's degree from Shenandoah University in 2000 and has been working in the outpatient setting for over 5 years. We congratulate Missy on just completing her doctoral degree this summer!

Missy's other professional interests include treating lymphedema, teaching our Spine in Balance Program and conducting clinical instruction for student internships.

Pam brings a wealth of experience to her position, having been a therapist in the outpatient setting for 22 years. Pam, a graduate of Howard University, specializes in orthopedics and sports medicine, and enjoys the challenge of bringing an aggressive sport rehab outlook to the “industrial athlete.”

Gretchen Videgar, OT and Clinic Coordinator, supports Missy and Pam in their efforts to offer high-quality services for injured workers in Mitchellville. Annette James coordinates the front office and scheduling, and Khadija and Teresa answer the phones with a smile in their voice.

Other services that may be of interest for management of work injuries:

  • Amputee Services including prosthetics
  • Medical psychology and neuropsychology
  • Seating and mobility clinic

The Mitchellville office is located in the Mitchellville Plaza at the intersection of Central Ave. and Rte. 193/Enterprise Rd. and can be reached by dialing 301-390-3076. Send a Fax Referral Form to 301-390-3725.
