Neuroscience Research Center

The Christoph Reusch Neuroscience Research Center (NRC) was established in 2001. Its multidisciplinary research faculty is trained in clinical and health services research, biomedical and rehabilitation engineering, clinical psychology, physical therapy, speech-language therapy, and exercise physiology.

Since its inception, the NRC has established a broad-based research program dedicated to stroke outcomes and recovery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and the impact of cardiovascular disease across the spectrum of neurologic disabilities.

The NRC seeks to promote and accomplish rehabilitation-related basic and applied neuroscience research. As part of this mission, the NRC conducts clinical trials and develops new clinical interventions for patients with neurologically based impairments, evaluates the effectiveness of new and existing rehabilitation-related interventions, enhances understanding of the neurophysiological and neuropsychological basis of impairment and disability, and develops new methods to assess human function and performance.
